Southern Illinois Builders Association awards ten scholarships from fall requests

The Southern Illinois Builders Association began offering scholarships in 2012 and has awarded 137 scholarships totaling approximately $264,400.

This year ten scholarships were awarded to the following individuals: Madison Deck, Edwardsville; Samuel Denny, Columbia, Ill.; William Denny, Columbia; Grayson Guthman, Murphysboro; Ella Klostermann, Breese; Kyra Mauntel, New Haven, Mo.; Isaac Trapp, Belleville; Jacob Whitworth, Columbia; Grant Wilson, Harrisburg, Ill.; and Chase Zobrist, Highland.

SIBA advertises for the SIBA Scholarships in the fall and requests that information be submitted by mid-Nov.for the SIBA Education Committee to meet and make their selections.

To be eligible for an SIBA Scholarship, candidates must be pursuing a degree in the field of Construction Management; Construction Related Engineering; Architectural; Construction Safety.

The Southern Illinois Builders Association is a trade association of contractors representing approximately 500 commercial and industrial building, highway and utility construction contractors throughout the southern part of the state.
