Local area seniors celebrate holiday's by serving a good time

Mt Olive Area Seniors celebrated recent holiday cheer with fine food and abundant gifts! On December 20th, our bi-monthly meeting convened promptly at 1230 pm. Sundae Best Catering had just finished serving a fabulously delicious dinner, so all members were contentedly grateful. Pres. Margrete called our meeting to order. Proceeding, she handed out numerous gifts donated by local businesses.

Those donations were received from:

Miner's Restaurant, United Community Bank, and Quality Motors all of Gillespie. Randy's Market also contributed from Mt Clare, as well as our Area Ambulance of Benld/Gillespie.

Other donors from Litchfield included: McDonald's, Wendy's, Steak & Shake, and Subway restaurants. A big thank you to all.

MOAS would also like to thank all members who participated this year. Our membership grew as we met new friends and shared many smiles, laughs, and enjoyment. And of course, Bingo kept us all quietly indulged, as numbers were called and hopes abound.

The question of the year still remains unanswered: How can one Bingo if the caller doesn't call your numbers? Ask Peggy Hughes.

If you would like to learn more about us, we meet on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the Mt Olive VFW. Our next meeting on the 3rd of January begins at 1230pm, but arrive earlier to purchase bingo cards, raffle tickets, while also acquiring drinks and snacks.
