Donald Edward Welch, 83, of Bunker Hill died at at St. John's Hospital of Springfield on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023.

He was born May 31, 1940, in Bunker Hill to Edward Welch and Opal Johnson Welch. He married Carlene Hanks Welch.

Donald was retired after having been a John Deer mechanic for 40 years and he was a collector John Deere tractors and Lionel trains.

He is survived by his spouse, Carlene Welch of Bunker Hill; children, Darren (Cindy) Welch of Henderson, Gina Corbin of Gillespie, Donna Welch of Staunton; step-children, Rochelle Nance of Bunker Hill, Mark (Jame) Winchester of Bunker Hill; grandchildren, Misty Fritz, Dustin Welch, Courtney Law, Summer Johnson; five great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Joe) Borgini of Wilsonville; and two nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be on Wedneday, Dec. 27, 2023 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Bunker Hill from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with interment following at Bunker Hill Cemetery. Kravanya Funeral Home of Bunker Hill is in charge of the arrangements.
