Brunnworth

Wilma Brunnworth, 92, of Worden, Ill., died and went to her heavenly home on Friday, Dec. 8, 2023 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill., with her family by her side. She was born April 24, 1931 in Omphghent Township, Ill. daughter to the late Arthur and Emelia (Gusewelle) Dustmann and both preceded her in death.

On April 25, 1953, Wilma married Alvin Brunnworth at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Prairietown, Ill. who preceded her in death on Dec. 2 in 1978.

She graduated from Worden High School, lived in Worden, and worked at Behme’s Market, which is in Holiday Shores, Ill. Wilma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden; the Ladies Aid of the church; also member and President of Worden American Legion Post No. 564 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, gardening, embroidering quilts, cooking, and baking.

She was preceded in death by twin granddaughters of Brad and Nancy Highlander; one great-granddaughter, Penelope Nosbisch; four brothers, Eldon, Loris, Delmar (Pete), and William Dustmann; one sister, Norma Albrecht; sisters-in-law, Shirley Dustman and Catherine Carter Dustmann; brothers-in-law, Victor Albrecht, Dale Jones, and Darrol Daugherty, as well as Lawrence and Laura Brunnworth and Elroy and Evellyn Brunnworth.

She is survived by her daughters, Denise (Barry) Hainaut and Nancy (Brad) Highlander both of Staunton; son, Keith Brunnworth of Worden; five grandchildren, Aaron (Emelia) Hainaut of Colleyville, Texas, Matthew (Erin) Hainaut of Worden, Julie (Brock) Nosbisch of Hamel, Lindsey Highlander of St. Louis, Mo., and Amanda Highlander of Concord, Mass .; six great-grandchildren, Anya Hainaut, Amina Hainaut, and Aveline Hainaut of Colleyville, Texas, Miles Hainaut of Worden, Ethan Hainaut of Worden, and Vincent Nosbisch of Hamel; siblings, Myra Daugherty and Marlen (LaVonne) Dustmann both of Staunton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 22 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 22 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Heath Curtis officiating. Interment will be at Worden Lutheran Cemetery in Worden.

Memorials are suggested to either Trinity Lutheran Church, of Worden, the Worden Volunteer Fire Department, or to the American Cancer Society.
