Mt. Olive Schools Academic Foundation President, Roger Kratochvil, has announced a grant from Dr. D. Ross Billiter for $15,000.00 to the foundation.
Several years ago, U.S. News and World Report reported that teachers on the average spend about $300.00 each year of out-of-pocket expenses for their students. Dr. Billiter felt that it should not be that way and wanted to do something about it. This year, each of the 44 educators in the Mt. Olive schools will get $300.00 to be reimbursed or to be spent on their student’s educational needs.
Recently, in a short ceremony in Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brandi Kelly’s office, Dr. Billiter, Roger, and Dr. Kelly presented the awards to Elementary Principal Karrie Scheller and High School Principal Tim Kline. This gesture on the part of Dr. Billiter has allowed the school staff to experience being appreciated for their role in their student’s lives.
On behalf of the 13 members of the Foundation and the whole school family, Merry Christmas and thanks to him.
