Willard D. “Will” Davis, 73, of Staunton, Ill., died at his residence in Staunton surrounded by his loving family on Dec. 3, 2023. Will was born March 4, 1950, in Berryville, Ark. the son of the late James and Sarah (Miller) Davis of Berryville, Ark.

During his teenage years, Will played football for Berryville High School and with his love of music and musical talents he played in a rock band from 1966 to 1972. He also worked as a drum instructor at a local music store. He met his wife, Pam (Seaton) Davis of Staunton, back in 1970 while in Eureka Springs, Ark. and they married in April of 1973 in Edwardsville. Recently, Will and Pam had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and he is survived by her.

His career as an electrician encompassed positions at Caterpillar Tractor in Peoria, from 1973 to 1975; Emerson Electric in St. Louis, Mo., from 1977 to 1988; and Ford Motor Company in St. Louis, Mo., from 1988 to 2006. Will enjoyed playing his guitar, woodworking, river rafting with friends and family, traveling, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, and spending time with Penny, his beagle buddy. Some of his favorite vacations were spent on the beaches of Flo. with the family.

There was no limit to the love and pride he felt for his children, grandchildren, and hearts are breaking in our family as we say farewell to an amazing husband, father and “Papa.” His one sibling and brother, Jim Davis, preceded him in death. He is survived by two children, Eric (Katie) Davis of Staunton and Carla (Luke) Zimmer of Edwardsville; four grandchildren, Drew and Abby Davis, and Carter and Cooper Zimmer.

Respecting Will’s wishes, no public services have been scheduled. Memorials are suggested to Vitas Hospice and Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton has been in charge of the arrangements. Anybody wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at http://www.williamsonfh.com.
