Senior Citizens Meeting

The meeting on Thursday, Dec. 7 was brought to order at 1 p.m. by president, Gerry Cook. The Lord's Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited by the 23 members who were in attendance. There were no visitors or new members present.

The secretary and treasurer’s reports were read and approved. A couple of financial decisions were motioned through due to the need to address them.

A card request was made for Nancy Johns for the loss of her brother. Leslie Vannoy requested prayers for her husband who is having knee replacement. Every member will get a free bingo card next month if you are wearing some kind of Christmas attire.

The afghan that Lu Emery made and donated for everyone to buy tickets for was raffled off. The winner was Gerry Cook.

A total of $64 was raised and will be donated to the cancer society.

Attendance prizes were won by Dee Masinelli and Shirley Copeland while the Pot of Silver winners were Nancy Johns and Ruth Kilduff.

The next Senior Citizens meeting will be held on Dec. 21 starting at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Christian Church located at 225 S. Laurel St. in Staunton.
