Helfer

William O. “Bill” Helfer, 91, of Staunton, Ill., died at his residence on Monday, Nov. 27, 2023. He was born April 12, 1932, in Hillsboro, the son to the Late William J. Helfer and Venita (Cash) Helfer. He married Bobbie J. (Hasty) Helfer on June 22, 1957 in St. John’s, Mo.

Bill graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 1951 and prior to being drafted into the service, he also secured a basketball scholarship to St. Louis University in St. Louis, Mo.
