Court

Eddie L. Harris (31) of St. Louis, faces three counts of felony charges and counts one and two both occurred on Nov. 18, 2023. Said defendant possessed with the intent to deliver more than 50 grams but less than 200 grams of a substance containing amphetamine, which is a Class one felony; also, the defendant, being convicted of a felony under the state of Mo., knowingly possessed firearm ammunition, being a loaded 50-round 9 mm handgun, which is a Class three felony offense. Count three occurred on Nov. 20, 2023, in that Harris knowingly possessed more than 100 but less than 500 grams of cannabis, which is a Class four felony.

Larry E. Whitehead (69) of Cadet, Mo., faces six counts of felony charges that all occurred on Nov. 19, 2023. Counts one and two are for the felony offense of knowingly being armed with a Taurus GX 4 9mm handgun and while in possession of a stolen 2003 Ford Expedition. Whitehead had been convicted of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in Macoupin County and arson in Madison County, so these counts carry a 15-year minimum non-probationable sentence. Count three is a Class two felony offense for aiding, abetting and/or possessing a stolen title and/or certificate, in that Whitehead, being a person not entitled to the mentioned 2003 Ford Expedition with Mo. registration, knew the vehicle was considered stolen. Count four is for the Class three felony offense of unlawful possession of a Taurus GX 4 9mm by a felon, and did so with the intent to use it unlawfully against another. This offense carries a two to ten year, non-probationable sentence. Counts five and six are for the Class four felony offenses of aggravated assault to a peace officer, in that Whitehead pointed the category I, Taurus GX 4 9mm handgun, at two separate peace officers performing their official duties, which makes Whitehead eligible for an extended term in sentencing.
