The Staunton Boys Soccer Club held their year-end awards banquet at the VFW on Tuesday, Nov. 14.
Four players received their first letter in the sport this year: Freshmen, Ty Simpson and Jude Ramirez; Sophomore, Matthew Overby; and Junior, Michael Brandt.
Pins were awarded to nine underclassmen as well, as they received letters the prior year.
Ethan Sharp won the Mr. Versatile award, given to the player who was adept at playing any position. Victor Buehler received the Defensive Player of the Year award, given to the best defender. Ethan Rantenan was presented the Bulldog Award, which is given to the player who epitomizes the best attitude of the team. Peyton Luketich received the Most Improved Player award and Cole Aberle, who was absent, received the Offensive Player of the Year award.
Aaron Bodner was presented the Most Valuable Player award.
In addition to their awards, Vic Buehler and Rhyse Rucker were recognized for being named to SCC 3rd team All-Conference; Cole Aberle was recognized for SCC 2nd team All-Conference; and Aaron Bodner got the big one in being named 1st team All-Conference.
