Trigg

William “Bill” Charles Trigg, 71, of Mt. Olive, Ill., died at Christian Northeast Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023. He was born in St. Louis on May 28, 1952, to William F. Trigg and Jo Ann Silverthorn.

He attended Mt. Olive High School and graduated with the Class of 1971 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on May 7, 1971. While in service, he received the Good Conduct Medal, the National Service Medal, and the Rifle Marksmanship Badge. After release from active duty, he attended the Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, Ill. As a member of the Marine Corps Reserves, he worked as a correction officer. He was honorably discharged from the military. In civilian life, Mr. Trigg worked in retail as a produce manager.

Mr. Trigg is survived by his mother, Jo Ann Beverly Simmons; a son, William (Jennifer) Trigg; a brother, Bradlee Dale (Margaret) Trigg; and two grandsons, Tim and Billy Trigg. He was preceded in death by his father, William Frederick Trigg; a brother, Jeff Simmons; and grandparents, Dale and Thema Stockwell.

Visitation took place at Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive on Tuesday, Nov. 21, with military honors provided by the Mt. Olive VFW.
