Macoupin County man involved in Iowa hunting accident

A man from Macoupin County was shot and later died during a hunting trip in Iowa over the weekend of Nov. 18.

26-year-old Seth Egelhoff from Chesterfield, was reportedly waterfowl hunting with others at the Bays Branch Wildlife Area according to information released by the Iowa's DNR.

The incident took place on Saturday afternoon when police in Guthrie County, Iowa, got a call about a hunter with a gunshot wound to the face. First aid was administered but he died of his injuries while being taken to Life Flight air ambulance.
