A letter to the editor from Stillman Valley High School praised Staunton High School and the Staunton community for the “gracious hospitality and kindness” showed to them while here for the football playoffs.

A son was born to Robert and Brenda (Bruhn) McEnery on Nov. 7 at Anderson Hospital.

Ruth E. Ray (70) of Staunton died Nov. 16 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Howard E. Ritzel (70) of Staunton died Nov. 11 at Community Memorial Hospital.

Kimberly Jo Smith (29) of Mt. Olive, formerly of Gillespie, died Nov. 15 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
