This week's Looking Back photo is from Lil Ashley's collection and shows the H. Beinke grocery store in Staunton probably in the late 1800s or early 1900s. We don't know the street on which the store was located.
Issue of Oct. 21, 1998
A Staunton girl, Jennifer DuFrain (15), died Friday evening, Oct. 16, following a one-vehicle accident on I-55. Abby Brackman (16) was the driver and other passengers included Bradley Bond (16), and Michelle Rhodes (16), all of Staunton. They were all taken to the Litchfield hospital.
A daughter was born to Sean and Angela (Verticchio) Pritchett of Staunton on Oct. 5 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Tricia Banovz and Daniel Bozung were married June 20 in Staunton.
Ray and Arline Blase of Worden will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 31.
Esther Spitze (85) of Edwardsville died Oct. 18 at Community Memorial Hospital.
Jennifer E. DuFrain (15) of Staunton died Oct. 16 at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield from injuries received in an automobile accident.

The SHS volleyball team held Volley for the Cure on Thursday night and raised over $4,200 during the event that will go to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure fund.
Ashley Pomatto and Larry Rayburn Jr. were married on June 28 in Mt. Olive.
A daughter was born to Brian and Beth (Moore) Bequette of Staunton on Aug. 15.
A daughter was born to Tim and Amy Elkins of New Douglas on Oct. 14.
A daughter was born to Rose Marie (Sparowks) Kuethe on Oct. 17.
