Services for Tim R. Kratochvil, 49, of Pawnee, was offered Saturday, Sept. 30 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. Olive. It started at 2 p.m., reverend Zachary Krampien officiated.
Tim graduated from SIU-C with a bachelors degree in Social Studies. He then graduated from U of Ill., Springfield with a Masters in Educational Administration, and later a Superintendents certification. He spent 27 years in education. Locally, he served as the high school-junior high school principle at Pawnee, and the last two years as Superintendent.
Tim played football, basketball and baseball at Mt. Olive High School and was all conference in all of them, all-state first team twice in baseball, Mazuno All American High School First Team , and one of the USA Today newspaper's Top 22 Catchers in the nation.
According to Becker and Son Funeral Home director, Doug Becker, Tim's funeral was the largest one he ever saw in town.
He is buried on the family plot at Union Miners Cemetery.
