Letters to the Editor

To the editor:

The older generation really knows hardship and the sacrifices they had to make to just get by. In today’s world, the devil is working both sides of the street. I empathize for those children today and what they must face. The actual truth, the absolute truth is virtually impossible to find. Billy Graham once said, “The depth of love and obedience, is not something you can work up yourself. You have to pray that God will help you by the power of his holy spirit working with you.”

Our political parties are at each others throats. Our society seems to be disintegrating. Someway, somehow we must stop the feuding, and withdraw from meanness and revenge. Abraham Lincoln, once said, “Revenge is like eating your dinner cold, and then drinking muddy water.” It’s simply not the thing to do. Remember some keys will unlock anything. The true secret is having the right keys to solve the right problem. You can humble yourself, you can believe, but the treasure of understanding will remain locked if you do not have the correct attitude and honesty. The United States is still the greatest country in the world. We as people must stay focused, and stay on the right path, and promote within our own legislative branches. Also, we must dominate all spheres of social life, including commerce, education, the fine arts, churches, and even sports.

Should rulers be accountable? Is the state more important than the individual or the individual than the state? We can’t have knowledge that leads to death. A puzzling government we can’t figure out is this an epic story of greatness and corruption. A combination that inevitably leads sometimes slowly and other times with the speed of an assassin’s bullet to ruin. Enough of violent quarrels which lead to open strife, often finding in bloodshed. No more advocate policies that can hurt people. Harry Truman said, “Our history in puzzling over the government riddle has been an epic story of greatness and corruption. A combination that inevitably leads to ruin.”

When we “vote” let's vote for who you truly think is the right person for the job. Factors like looking you in the eye when they are talking to you. Are they finishing a sentence? Do they move around when talking? Talking slow enough so you have time to understand what they are saying. Remember opinions vary. Facts are hard to come by. We the people are what its all about. Remember, rich people that are educated and those who have large businesses have paid their dues. Some lost everything. Your everyday person has to work for someone. That’s the part of the American Dream: Hard work and never giving up. Always remember to thank our veterans–they paved the way for our freedom. And our police and armed forces, firemen, also, is this a great country or what?
