Schultze
James A. Schultze, 85, of Staunton, Ill., died at his residence on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023. He was born on June 12, 1938 in Highland, the son of the late John C. Schultze and Helen C. Schroeppel Schultze. He married Rose Mary Knecht on March 16, 1963, at Friedens Evangelical Church in Troy, and she survives.
Jim was the owner and operator of Schultze, Maechling, & Associates, Inc. for many years. He was a corporate consultant, evaluator, and expert witness for closely held corporations. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Staunton where he had served on the church council for many years. He was past president of Staunton School Board for many years , and he was a member of many professional organizations. Jim also held a private pilot’s license.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Mary Schultze of Staunton; one son, J. Andrew (Tatiana) Schultze of Edwardsville; one daughter, Jessica (Wayne) Kirkman of Terre Haute, Ind .; four grandchildren, Dylan and Haley Schultze of O’Fallon, Sebastian Schultze of Edwardsville, Ava Wilson of Terre Haute, Ind .; two sisters, Mary Loyet of Carrollton, Patricia Hinton of Alhambra; one brother, Joseph Schultze of St. Jacob; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Richard, Jean, Lois, John, and Paul.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 30, at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Staunton with Rev. Debbie Jo Atkins officiating. Interment was in Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville.
