SJHS boys Baseball team is heading to state after a stellar season performance

The SJHS Boys Baseball team is headed to East Peoria for the Class 2A State Baseball Series after winning their Sectional against Auburn 10-0 on Saturday.

The boys will be taking their 14-0 record to the tourney on Friday, where they will play St. Joseph at Noon. The boys are lead by Head Coach, Devin Ray, and assistant coach, Ryan Best.

The team has had a very memorable season, as they have remained undefeated throughout their play, and are the 2M Conference Champions. They overcame a very solid Morrisonville team in the Regional Championship, and haven't looked back. Their bats have been hot, their defense very focused, and their pitching on point. They hope the victory train continues to roll at Peoria.

If they are able to win Friday, Sept. 29, they will have an opportunity on Saturday, Sept. 30 to get to the championship game. Information about the tourney can be found at IESA.org. Wish the boys luck as they look to accomplish what few ever do.
