Little Italy's Pizza on Main Street has been a member of the Staunton Chamber of Commerce for years. Dana Kilduff has been the manager for the last 15 years. The business is owned by Mike Moreland rom Chatham. The Staunton store is open 7 days a week 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The store provides discounted menus for nonprofit organizations and local organizations for parties and award banquets. Over the years, they have supported Zion school and Staunton school district with pizzas for classroom achievement goals including providing over 2,200 free pizzas for Super Reader Awards at Staunton Elementary School. Little Italy's also has a catering menu providing pizzas, salads and other menu items for wedding receptions, large parties and benefit fund raisers.
Dana says the most popular pizza is the pepperoni pizza followed by the cheese pizza. One of their newest menu items and maybe the most misunderstood are the Mozza Bars, they are like a pizza only using a thicker dough topped with garlic salt, parmesan and mozzarella cheese, then cut into bars and served with dipping sauce. They have become so popular they have added buffalo bars with hot sauce and bacon bars to the menu. Many ingredients for the menu are locally sourced and when in season they are purchased from local growers.
Little Italy's has 12 employees but like many businesses, Dana is currently in need of more help, especially a 3rd pizza delivery person. The driver must be 18 years old, have a valid driver's license and insurance. She stated its a great way for someone to make some extra cash with short working hours on Friday and Saturday evenings. Little Italy's Pizza is a local business that supports and gives back to the community. Keep them in mind next time you need a pizza.
