As you turn your calendar from Aug. to Sept., don’t forget to make a special note on Saturday, Sept. 16 for the 2nd Annual Strassenfest. Main Street will be busy with music, refreshments, food and activities going from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The day also promises the return of “sidewalk art!” The sidewalk art competition was a big hit last year. It is hoped that all our competitors from last year will want to try again plus some new artists will get involved in the fun this year. The competition is divided into three age groups: Pre-K - 5th gr., 6th - 12 gr.; and Adult.
Each artist will be supplied with a 4 x 4 foot space to work their magic in art and chalk. The sidewalk art will be located on Main Street between Union and Elm Streets. Artists will be allowed to work on their creations from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. when judging will happen.
Bands on hand to provide music will include Klose Kuarters, playing from 1 - 5 p.m.; and Wildfire playing from 6 to 10 p.m.
