Michael W. Wallace (45) of Benld faces a Class 2 felony charge in that on Aug. 13, 2023, the defendent knowingly caused bodily harm to Danette Shook, a household member of the defendant, in that he struck her in the face with his hand. The said defendant having previously been convicted of domestic battery on four prior occasions in Macoupin County.

Dillon J. Weaver (25) of Carlinville faces one count of a Class 1 felony and two counts of a Class A felony. On Aug. 11, Weaver took property from Susan Lancaster, being cash, by threatening use of force while indicating to Lancaster that he had a dangerous weapon and pointed a black pistol-like bb gun at her. Also, on Aug. 11, Weaver knowingly exerted unauthorized control over property of Casey's General Store, being $10 U.S. currency and committed an assault when he pulled a BB gun, an airsoft rifle, and pointed said weapon at Lancaster, thereby placing Lancaster in reasonable apprehension of receiving a battery.

Martin L. Snow (55) of Springfield committed theft deception, a Class 3 felony on Aug. 31, 2022, in that the defendant obtained by deception control over property of Freedom Chevrolet being a catalytic converter, a muffler and exhaust pipe with the intent to permanently deny Freedom Chevrolet the use or benefit of the property, purporting to be the owner of a bank card which he did not have authorization to use.

Justin R. Howerton (27) of Carlinville faces county charges of a Class 2 felony. On July 25, 2023, Howerton, a sex offender, knowingly failed to register in accordance with the provisions of the Child Sex Offender Registration Act. He failed to complete his 90 registration as required by the act, after previously being convicted of violation of the Sex Offender Registration Act.

Dustin M. Thompson (29) of Carlinville on April 5, 2023, possessed less than 5 grams of methamphetamine or a substance containing methamphetamine. Also, on June 21, 2023, Thompson entered the residence of Kimberly Schmedeke with intent to commit theft. Defendant exerted unauthorized control over the property of Schmedeke, a Glock Pistol, 22 revolver and a .22 pistol having a value of more than $500 but less than $10,000 with intent to permanently deprive Schmedeke the benefit of said property.

Roy L. Glasco (28) of Carlinville faces six counts of a Class 4 felony in that on Aug. 14, 2023, defendant was in physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The alcohol concentration of his breath was .08 or greater, during a time when his license was suspended or revoked for driving under the influence, at a time when he should have known the vehicle was not covered by liability insurance, failed to stop and refused to obey direction.

Richard G. Howerton (33), faces two counts of a Class 4 felony from March 29, for possession of a Marine Bank debit card belonging to Brian J. Boone without the cardholder's consent and used said card to purchase items at Family Dollar in Virden.

Kathryn J. Ayers (51) of Gillespie faces a Class 4 felony, when on June 26, 2023, said defendant obtained control over stolen property, being a Nishiki brand bicycle belonging to Nathan James and a Polygon brand bicycle belonging to Kyle Hanner, knowing the property to have been stolen or under such circumstances as would reasonably induce him or her to believe that the property was stolen. Said defendant had previously been convicted of retail theft in Montgomery County.

Frederic J. Skinner (20) of Carlinville faces two counts of a Class 4 felony. On Aug. 4, 2023, said defendant obtained unauthorized control over the property of David Serrano, being a Begass brand bicycle, intending to permanently deprive David Serranno of the use of said property, and having been previously convicted of retail theft in Macoupin County. He also faces Class 4 felony charges in that on Aug. 19, 2023, he took possession of merchandise offered for sale at Walmart in Carlinville having a total value not in excess of $300, with intention to depriving Walmart permanently of such merchandise without paying the full retail value of such merchandise and said defendant having been previously convicted of retail theft in Macoupin County.

Rowan M. Cook (21) of Staunton faces one count of a Class 3 felony and one count of a Class 4 felony. On Feb. 5, 2023, Cook possessed less than 5 grams of methamphetamine or a substance containing methamphetamine. The defendant was also unlawfully in possession of a substance containing fentanyl.

Thomas F. Ray (43) of Staunton committed a Class 3 felony on Feb. 26, 2023, when said defendant knowingly possessed less than 5 grams of methamphetamine or a substance containing methamphetamine.

Amanda L. French (36) of Mount Vernon, committed a Class 4 felony on Nov. 6, 2022, being unlawfully in possession of a substance containing methamphetamine.

Jordan M. French (30) of Mount Vernon, committed a Class 4 felony on Nov. 6, 2022, being unlawfully in possession of less than 5 grams of methamphetamine or a substance containing methamphetamine.

Mark B. Bersch (66) of Carlinville, was charged with one count of a misdemeanor on June 30. Defendant knowingly resisted the performance of Officer Jeremy Williams of an authorized act within his official capacity, being the detention of Bersch for investigatory purposes. Knowing Williams to be a peace officer engaged in the execution of his official duties in that he refused lawful commands and attempted to walk away from officers after being told not to do so. For count two, Bersch committed the act of criminal trespass within a building, in that said defendant knowingly and without lawful authority remained within the Old Fashioned building located on the Southside of the Square in Carlinville, after having been directed to leave the premises by an employee of said establishment.

Dominic A. Parker (22) and Brayden D. Parker (19) of Gillespie, committed the offense of disorderly conduct on July 6, 2023. Defendants followed Brilee and Dawson Shaw from Dollar General to their residence and yelled at them in an attempt to start a fight in such an unreasonable manner as to alarm and disturb Shaw and provoke a breach of the peace.

Brett A. Bilbruck (18) of Hettick, resisted the performance of Sgt. Roger Diveley being the arrest of Bilbruck, knowing Sgt. Diveley to be a peace officer engaged in the execution of his official duties. On July 1, Bilbruck struggled against deputies as they attempted to place him in the squad car and kicked out at emergency services personnel.

Christine M. Wolf (48) of Mount Olive committed the offense of littering on June 26, 2023, when said defendant threw roofing shingles upon South Panther Creek Road within Macoupin County.

Denzell L. Drew (26) of Affton, Mo., on May 6, 2023, knowingly possessed more than 30 but less than 100 grams of cannabis or a substance containing cannabis.

DUI

On Aug. 14, 2023, at 10:56 p.m., Roy Glasco of Carlinville was ticketed for disobeying 5 stop signs, failure to signal, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage, operating uninsured vehicle, driving while license suspended/revoked, and driving under the influence.
