New zoning officer appointed

At the City Council meeting held Monday night, the council approved a resolution appointing Jack Daugherty to the position of zoning hearing officer for the city of Staunton.

The City of Staunton previously appointed Gina Verticchio to the position of zoning hearing officer. However, the city was made aware that Verticchio could no longer serve in that capacity due to a conflict associated with a new job she has taken.

Daugherty will be paid $400 for each individual zoning matter that requires a hearing. His term will be from Aug. 14, 2023 through April 30, 2024.
