On Aug. 11, at 5:05 a.m. the Carlinville Police Department recieved a call that an employee from Casey's located at 425 West Main in Carlinville, had been robbed at gunpoint by a white male, wearing a mask, black hoodie, and dark pants After an investigation by the Carlinville Police Department and with the joint efforts of the Macoupin County Sheriff's Office and the Macoupin County State's Attorney's Office, on Aug. 12, at 3:20 p.m., a suspect was apprehended. Charges have been filed on Dillan Weaver aged 25 of Carlinville, for aggravated robbery. Weaver was taken into custody by the Carlinville Police Department. Formal charges were filed on Monday, Aug. 14.
Members of the public are reminded that the allegations are not proof of the defendants guilt. A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which it is government's burden to prove his or her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
