Staunton’s 8th annual Balloon Glow, sponsored by our Chamber of Commerce and the City of Staunton Tourism, will be in Firemen’s Park, 800 Montgomery Street this Saturday, August 19, starting at 4 p.m.
Weather permitting, the balloons will be inflated with the colors becoming even more beautiful as the evening skies darken. The “glow” is expected to last just one hour after sunset.
The Staunton Balloon Glow promises everyone the opportunity to view hot air balloons close up in our community park setting with the added fun of family-focused events including food and beverages. The Kids Zone is from 4 to 8 p.m. includes crafts, art, balloon artists, and three bounce houses. All of the Kids Zone activities are free.
Admission to the park is free, including parking and the Kid Zone activities. You are invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets, etc. Whatever you may need to make your evening more comfortable.
Food and beverage vendors are invited to set up as early as 1 p.m so they can be open for business by 3 p.m.
The tethered balloon rides are expected to start at approximately 6:30 p.m. Ride tickets will be sold only on day of ride.For adults the price is $20 per person. For children under the age of 12, the price is $15 per person. No one under the age of 8 will be allowed to take a balloon ride.
