Thomas Joseph Coalson

November 14, 1953 - August 2, 2023

Thomas Joseph Coalson, age 69, originally of Livingston, IL

passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at his residence in St. Peters, MO.

Tom was born on Saturday, November 14, 1953 at Staunton Memorial Hospital

He was the son of Arthur W. Coalson Jr. and Wilma (Renchof) Coalson.

Tom was married to Cindy Bagaglio on March 11, 1978 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton, IL

Tom graduated from SIU-E with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and received his Masters from Lindenwood College in St. Charles, MO in 1990.

He started his career at International Paper in Litchfield, IL but in 1979 was hired by McDonnell Douglas/Boeing Aerospace in St. Louis, MO . He worked for Boeing for 40 years as a Senior Systems Analyst. Tom was very proud of his accomplishments at Boeing. He got into Computer Technology on the ground floor and with hard work, on the job training, and many computer classes, he achieved his goals!

Tom and his family attended Saints Joachim & Ann Catholic Church in St. Charles, MO.

Tom is survived by his loving and devoted family, including his wife of 45 years, Cindy Coalson of St. Peters, MO.

2 Daughters: Jennifer Nicole (Steve) Stranghoener of Bridgeton, MO and

Sarah Elizabeth Ann (Brian) Ivey of St. Peters, MO

Grandchildren: Sydney, Stella and Steven Stranghoener, Joseph and Anna Mulholland, & Cami Ivey

His Mother: Wilma Coalson of Auburndale, FL.

1 Brother: Gary (Doris) Coalson of Staunton, IL.

2 Sisters: Mary Kay Wells of Alton, IL and Joan Hedstrom of New Douglas, IL;

1 Uncle: Donald Coalson, his wife Barbara of Staunton, IL;

Along with numerous Cousins, Nieces, & Nephews

He was preceded in death by his Father: Arthur W. “Gejo” Coalson.

Tom brought so much joy to his family! He loved playing games especially video, family gatherings, drawing-no one could beat him in Pictionary, traveling, golfing with his Uncle Donny, playing poker & fantasy baseball with his buddies, deck togethers and the horseracing game with friends, going to dinner/casino, and watching series like GOT together. He felt so fortunate to have so many fond memories and told us often “He had a good life!” Tom, you are in our hearts, and we will always love and miss you!

A Memorial Mass for Thomas J. Coalson will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 184 Livingston Ave in Livingston, IL with Fr. Thomas Hagstrom officiating.

Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery near Livingston, IL.

Memorial Contributions in memory of Tom Coalson can be made to the Sacred Heart Cemetery, the Sacred Heart Church, Siteman Cancer/Oncology Center, or to the Saints Joachim & Ann Catholic Church.
