The library hosted their annual party at the park on Thursday, Aug. 3 while celebrating the 113th birthday of the Staunton Public Library. The children and volunteers that belong to the Summer Reading Program were in attendance. The entertainment this year was provided by the MAC art program, featuring their art on wheels, or as they called it, " The MAC truck". The MAC art program, which is located on 115 East Main of Staunton, had their art truck loaded down with numerous amounts of art products and activities. The clay pottery seemed to be the star of the day as children and volunteers honed in on their pottery skills while enjoying ice-cold water and popsicles to battle the humidity. The event started at 10 a.m. and ended at 1 p.m. The sun came out for a little bit, but the shade provided by the pavilion paired nicely with the pottery and clay, which left messy hands and dirty tables .
Julie Jarman would like to thank the Library Board, MAC, library staff, and families for all the help and support.
