Severtson

April Lee Severtson, 62, of Mt. Olive Ill., died on Monday, July 17, 2023, in Litchfield. She was born on April 3,1961, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, the daughter of Robert W. Dyke and Camellia (Waugh) Phipps.

She was a mother and homemaker. April leaves behind a close friend, “ol-man” Packy Carney.

She is survived by six children, Jeramiah (AmberLee) Severtson, Josh Severtson, Angela (Joshua) Bowlinger, Walter Wallace, Amy (Bucky) O'Brian, and Kammy Carney; 19 grandchildren, Brooke Severtson, Mathew Severtson, Mollie Severtson, Rebecca Severtson, GabreElla Jett, Sam Stewart, Heaven Severtson, Nature Severtson, Akila Specking, Elizabeth Lee, Alexus (Lou, Lou) Carney, Josh Bowlinger, Annabelle Bowlinger, Alexis Bowlinger, Autumn O’Brian, Austin O’Brian, Anthony Hendshawn, Walter O’Brian, Michael O’Brian; three brothers, Steve (Donna) Phipps, Michael (Judy) Phipps, Rockie (Leta) Phipps; and four sisters, Louse Dyke, Susan Dyke, Debra (Tom) Keith, and Elizabeth Dyke. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jacob William Severtson; brother, Stephen Dyke; and a stepsister, Vickie Phipps.

Funeral services were held at Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive, on Saturday, July 22, with Rev. Gary Hanover of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Olive officiating. Burial was in Chapman Cemetery in Mt. Olive.
