Cool riding Hundreds of riders enjoyed cool temperatures in the low 70s and low humidity as they headed out from Staunton's Main Street for the 35th Tour de Donut race.
The Tour de Donut bicycle race took off from Staunton on Saturday morning, July 8, with some of the best weather for the event in years. Temperatures in the low 70s ushered the riders out of town on their round-trip doughnut-eating circuit. Many riders chose to ride without eating any doughnuts at all, while others ate as many doughnuts as they could to cut their time and most just enjoyed a leisurely ride and a doughnut or two.
