Each year, the Staunton Clergy Association provides 75 to 100 backpacks and supplies to children in need within the Staunton School system. They are reaching out to businesses, organizations and individuals in our community to help with this project through monetary donations (made payable to St. Paul UCC) or items needed.
They are in need of the following:
• Backpacks (small enough to fit in a locker; no wheels)
• Pump-bottle hand sanitizer
• Clorox wipes
• Large boxes facial tissue
• Ziploc gallon size freezer bags
• Ziploc quart size freezer bags
• Ticondiroga pencils
• Glue sticks
• pocket folders
• Crayola colored pencils
• Crayola 8-pack broad tip washable markers
• Inexpensive ear buds
• Plastic pocket folders with brads
Please bring these items to St. Paul UCC by July 31. Volunteers will be filling backpacks and kids can pick up on Aug. 8 from 9-11 a.m. at the church. Applications will also be available for the Pack-a-Sack weekend food program.
