Winford Earl Boulch died June 9, 2023, in Portland, Ore., one day before he turned 91. Win was born June 10, 1932, to James and Lura Boulch in the township of Good Water, Mo. He married his wife, Vivian, on Jan. 5, 1995, in Las Vegas, Nev. She survives.
His family moved to a farm in New Douglas, Ill., where he graduated from high school. He enjoyed returning to class reunions and visiting with classmates throughout the years. Win lived in Staunton, Ill., and worked as a machinist at Olin in Alton, Ill., and Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, Wash., and Portland, Ore., where he retired. Win and Vivian enjoyed retirement living in Woodburn, Ore., Senior Estates Community for 20 years. He was an excellent handyman and enjoyed helping many friends with home repairs. Win and Vivian traveled in their RV all over the United States and enjoyed making new friends wherever they went.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Boulch; three children, Robbin (Tom) Killam of Apache Junction, Ariz., Winford Boulch Jr. of Independence, Mo., Roger (Sarah) Boulch of Kalispell, Mont.; two stepchildren, Jeanne Arbow of Florence, Ariz., Linda (Steve) Paiko of Portland, Ore.; seven grandchildren, Brad Killam, Rachel (Jordan) Babb, Chris Boulch, Brandon Boulch, Sarah (Jacob) Vorphal, Angela (Nathan) Probus, David Paiko; 15 great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Hettie (Jim) Knotts of Mt. Olive, Bennie Boulch Jr. of Staunton, and Penny (Conrad) Earhart of Dover, Tenn. He was preceded in death by stepson, Jerry Foust; and siblings, Geneva Moore, James Boulch, George Boulch, Louise Vanlaninghan, Bennie Boulch Sr., Elvira Melchert, Irvin Boulch, and Shirley Boulch.
Win’s body was donated to Oregon Health and Science University and he requested no services.
