The Staunton firemen have put in a lot of time and effort into planning this coming weekend in Staunton. They have put together all the carnival rides, music, food, parade, and fireworks needed to make this weekend lots of fun for all. The Staunton Fire Department is also marking their 100th anniversary during the weekend festivities.
Now it’s time to enjoy the results of all that planning as we celebrate Staunton’s 82nd annual homecoming celebration.
The park will open Friday, June 23, with Rides by Egyptian Exposition starting at 6 p.m. and continuing until 10 p.m. The $25 armbands will be available for Friday night rides.
Captain Geech & The Shrimp Shack Shooters will be on stage with their music from 8 to 11 p.m. Friday. Of course, along with all the rides and music, there will be a large selection of games, concessions, food and beverages available.
Be sure to get your tickets for the 50/50 raffle drawing. The winner will be named at 10 p.m. Sunday. The winner does not need to be present to win – they just have to have their name on that winning ticket. So be sure to get your ticket for the drawing.
On Saturday, Silly Jilly the Clown will be entertaining from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. and there will be a children's magic show at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Rides will be in operation from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday and $25 armbands will be available. The music on Saturday will be provided by Off the Wall from 8 to 11 p.m. Of course, the food options offered by local community organizations will be available throughout the weekend.
Sunday, June 25, will bring its own excitement with the annual parade set to begin at 3 p.m. Following the parade, Lost Highway Band will be providing music from 6 to 11 p.m. Sunday rides will be in operation from 5 to 9:30 p.m. with armbands available.
Bringing the weekend to an exciting close, weather permitting, will be the fireworks display being sponsored by the City of Staunton and scheduled for Sunday, June 25, at dark.
Closing out the excitement for the weekend, the raffle winner will be drawn at 10 p.m. Sunday.
Everyone is invited to Staunton this weekend to participate in and enjoy all the rides, music, food, and excitement of our annual homecoming celebration,
