Kenneth Scott Snyder "Kenny, Kennyballs," 53, of Springfield, Ill., died peacefully Wednesday, June 7, 2023, surrounded by his family. Kenny was born Sept. 29, 1969, in Springfield at St. John's Hospital to Marlin Sr. and Darlene (Kunze) Snyder. Kenny went to Springfield schools – Hay Edwards and graduated from Lee Developmental Center in 1991, where Kenny met his favorite teacher, Janet Stratton.
Kenny's passion was his family and family friends – he knew no stranger and all that met him became his instant friend for life. He loved playing video games, watching WWF/WWE wrestling and movies, plus goofing around with all his siblings, and nieces and nephews. If Kenny met you – he remembered you, no matter the amount of time that passed between meetings.
Kenny is survived by his mom, Darlene Snyder; his sisters, Tammy Ann (Ray) Panting, Suzanne (Suzie) Biddle; brothers, Maurice Jr. (Cindy) Snyder; Mark Allen Sr. (Rhonda) Snyder; Donald Snyder; and Joey Snyder, all of Springfield; nieces and nephews, Sara Panting, Rebecca "Becky" (Josh) Epperson of Buffalo, Michael Snyder of St. Louis, Mo., Ronald Snisky, Mark Snyder Jr., Bethany Snisky-Metlis (Brian), Timothy Snyder, Rachel Lang, all of Springfield; three great-nephews; aunts, Bette Jones of Mt. Olive, Doris Westbrook of Staunton, Bessie Kaylor of California; and bunches of cousins. Kenny was preceded in death by his dad, Marlin Snyder Sr.; grandparents, Fred and Daisy Snyder, and William and Bernice Kunze.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 12, at 1 p.m. at Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive. Burial was at Chapman Cemetery in Mt. Olive.
