Heigert

Kenneth J. Heigert, 65, of Staunton, Ill., died at his residence on Sunday, June 11, 2023. He was born on June 13, 1957, in Staunton, to Elmer and Doris (Jardin) Heigert. He married Linda Turner on Oct. 10, 1992, and she survives.

Ken, a life-long Staunton resident, was formerly a heavy equipment mechanic at Fairmount Race Track and was a hobby farmer. A true handyman and Mr. Fix It, he was always willing to lend a hand. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren, and loved watching them grow.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Heigert of Staunton; two children, Scott (Candace) Turner of Waynesville, Mo., Lisa (Kyle) Hemenover of Mokena; four grandchildren, Bryce and Brynn Turner and Layla and Lily Hemenover; two brothers, Ron Heigert of Staunton, Don (Marlene) Heigert of Staunton; and nieces and nephews, Chris Heigert and Tammy Dooley, Shane (Lauren) Heigert and Melissa Heigert. Ken was preceded in death by his daughter, Alisha; parents; and sister-in-law, Beverly Heigert.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Private burial of cremains will be held at a later date.
