Open house at Bremer Wildlife Sanctuary

An open house will be held at H & B Bremer Wildlife Sanctuary on Sunday, June 25, from 1 to 3 p.m. The education barn and meeting hall will be open for tours, and attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy the many hiking trails, woodlands and prairies.

You are invited to come and check out the many splendors the property has to offer. Volunteer stewards will be available to answer questions about the sanctuary. An easy hike or wagon ride around the barn area will leave at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. that will discuss the history and future goals of the sanctuary. Come and enjoy this family friendly event. Donations are welcome.

Immediately following the open house event, another family friendly event will take place. Which Nest is Best? is open to all ages that want to learn about bird nests, including adults. It will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. A PowerPoint presentation begins the program followed by a brief hike and a kids craft.

The sanctuary is located at 194 Bremer Lane in Hillsboro. Their website is http://www.bremersanctuary.com. Bremer Sanctuary, Hickory Hills Chapter, is a member of the Illinois Audubon Society.
