Ethan Rantanten runs in the second leg of the 4x200 during state competition.
Coach B.J. Ogata and the Staunton High School boys track team were just one of 75 teams represented at the 1A Boys State Track Meet held May 25 at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.
Staunton's 4x100 relay team placed 28th in the 1A prelims with a time of 44.85. Team members (all juniors) were Michael Matesa, Ethan Rantanen, Braden Buffington and Trace Trettenero.
