Doug Behme Foundation 5K and car show successful

On Saturday, May 27, Doug Behme Foundation hosted their 5th annual Run/Walk in Remembrance 5K and Rev It Up In Remembrance Car Show in Worden. The events are held annually in remembrance of loved ones who have passed away and to enable the Foundation to provide assistance and opportunities to those who have been affected by burn injuries, as well as to their children and their families.

The Run/Walk in Remembrance 5K attracted almost 200 participants. Several groups walked in memory of their loved ones and memory signs were displayed along the 5K route. Overall top finishers were Stephanie Pruitt and Adam McLean. Top finishers in age categories were Maryn DeVary, Connor Munro, Cara Kielty, Sean Ogden, Olivia Albrecht, Benjamin Simpkins, Jennie Danaher, Cameron Wilson, Kelsey Long, James Roddy, Rebekah Curtis, Patrick Crader, Lisa Wieseman, Bradley Myers, Lilli Sirko, Miguel Cancel, Patricia Dietz and Al Davenport.

The Rev It Up In Remembrance Car Show drew 102 entries. The first 50 entrants received dash plaques and top prizes went to Allen Anderson (2014 Ford Mustang), Mike and Clara Jatcko (1932 Ford Roadster Convertible), Janet Long (1957 Chevy Bel Air), Jim Lumma (1962 Cadillac Coupe DeVille), Bruce Voyles (1969 Dodge Dart Swinger), Steve and Barb Noga (1970 Ford Torino Cobra), Nathan Kuethe (1987 Buick Grand National), Roger & Maggie Roney (1952 Chevy 3100), Merle Yates (1979 Dodge Lil’ Express), Tim Henke (1953 Farmall M Tractor), Ken Marshall (1965 Chevy Impala Convertible) and Rykky Bricker (1931 Chevy 5 Window).

Doug Behme Foundation sincerely thanks the Village of Worden, the Worden Public Library, the Worden Volunteer Fire Department, Omphghent Township, the Yellow Dog Café and Bar and all volunteers for their hard work and dedication to making the 5K and car show a success.

Proceeds from the Run/Walk in Remembrance 5K and Rev It Up In Remembrance Car Show will be used to provide assistance and care bags for families staying with loved ones in the burn unit at Mercy Hospital. In addition, donations will be made to Camp “I Am Me”, Midwest Burn Camp and Mercy Burn Foundation.
