Richard A. Sturgill, 87, of Livingston, Ill., died at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, on Thursday, May 25, 2023. He was born May 22, 1936, in Equality, the son of the late Arzie and Mildred (Lassater) Sturgill. He married Karen J. Turner on April 14, 1974, in Alton, and she survives.
He was the owner and manager of Poor Boy Portable Buildings at Rt. 140 and Rt. 4 junction for 28 years, retiring in 2018.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Sturgill of Livingston; one daughter, Cherise (Patrick) Sowell of Granite City; and three grandsons, Jacob Bland, Jesse Sowell, and Lucas Sowell. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.
No services are scheduled.
