Many people experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities. Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to help people manage falls and increase their activity levels.
The Macoupin County Public Health Department through funding provided by the Area Agency on Aging Lincolnland (AgeLinc) will be offering a Matter of Balance Workshop beginning Tuesday, May 30, in Gillespie. The workshop meets every Tuesday and Thursday for four weeks from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the UCB Loan Servicing Building located at 104 N. Macoupin Street in Gillespie
During this workshop participants will learn how to view falls as controllable, set goals to increase activity, make changes to reduce fall risks at home and learn exercises to increase strength and balance.
Anyone concerned about falls, interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength, or anyone who has restricted activity due to a fall should sign up and attend.
Registration is required. To register or for questions, contact Debbie at 217-930-2285.
