Days Gone By In Staunton

Thursday, July 3, 1975 -- Injured in Tractor Mishap -- Charles Hooks, 17, of Staunton was injured Wednesday, June 25, when the tractor he was driving on his father's farm turned over, pinning him under the fender.

Sheriff's deputies, Staunton Police and the Benld Rescue Squad were called to the scene, however, construction crew members working on the Bunker Hill Road near the farm released Hooks from under the tractor before the Rescue Squad arrived. He was taken to Staunton Community Memorial Hospital where he was listed in satisfactory condition.
