Hainaut

Gail Hainaut, 66, of Granite City, Ill., died on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. She was born April 10, 1956, in Litchfield, the daughter of the late Calvin Hainaut and the late Clara (Senaldi) Mansholt.

Gail was employed as a utility technician at Granite City Steel in Granite City. She was a member of U.S. Steelworkers Union Local #1899.

She is survived by one brother, Rick (Sheila) Hainaut of Taylorville; four nieces, Charis (Ryan) Lowis of Taylorville, Melissa Hainaut of Taylorville, Michelle Hainaut of Taylorville, and Alecia (Eric) Whitlock of Mt. Olive; two nephews, Michael (Allyson) Mansholt of Staunton, David (Alicia) Mansholt of Staunton; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Terry Lynn Mansholt; and a brother, Mark Mansholt.

Memorial services will be held at a later date and interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton.
