Candidates for spring election Candidates file for city aldermen

The following Staunton residents have filed the necessary petitions in December to be listed as candidates on the ballot for city aldermen in the 2023 Consolidated Election that will be held on April 4.

Ward 1: Four-year term - David Dias;

Ward 2: Two-year unexpired term - Kristy Berg; Four-year term - None;

Ward 3: Four-year term - None;

Ward 4: Four-year term -Terry Tipler; Two-year unexpired term - Matthew McKee.

Current Ward 4 alderman John Moore is not seeking reelection, and there are still vacancies in Wards 2 and 3 from the resignations of aldermen Chad Plenske and Randy Hanks.

Four positions on the Staunton Community Unit School District #6 Board of Education will be filled at the Consolidated Election on April 4.

David L. Lamore is the candidate for the Staunton School Board's two-year unexpired term. While four other seats are open on the board, with only three candidates submitting petitions, one seat will remain unfilled.

Candidates who have filed petitions and will be on the ballot include Bradley Best, Clayton Green, and Dori Rhodes.

Board member Stefanie Legendre has decided not to seek reelection. Once the election is completed, there will be a posting for applicants to fill the position and the Staunton Board of Education will fill the vacancy.
