Le Roy T. Fahnestock, 82, of Bunker Hill, Ill., died at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton on Monday, Dec. 12, 2022. He was born Feb. 20, 1940, in Ste. Genevieve, Mo., to Clifford Fahnestock and Maxine Pruitt Fahnestock. He married Janet Hahn on Feb. 24, 1961, in St. Louis County, Mo., and she survives.
He was a banker. He was also a minister in Kimmswick, Mo., and pastor for Woodburn Bible Church for 30 years. He was a Mizzou football fan, St. Louis Cardinal fan and softball coach. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He especially enjoyed reading his Bible.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Fahnestock of Bunker Hill; children, Shelley (John ) Peterson of Bunker Hill, Lisa Cox of Wood River, Jill (Perry) Yates of Bunker Hill, Mikki Rowe of Staunton, Mike Fahnestock of Perryville, Mo., Tom (Glenda) Fahnestock of Farmington, Mo .; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild due in January; sister, Brenda (John) Klarich of Clearwater, Fla., brothers, Roger (Jean) Fahnestock of Pekin, and Bradley (Jeanette) Fahnestock of St. Genevieve, Mo. Le Roy was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Tyler Yates; great-grandson, Job Peterson; and sister, Janis Lloyd.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 16, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Bunker Hill.
