Library Happenings

Happy December, 2022

Wow, it went by fast once again. I felt like it went from the Easter Egg Hunt to Thanksgiving dinner in the blink of an eye. The library has a few things happening inside its doors that we would like to share with you this holiday season.

The Staunton Public Library has Staunton Lions Club Secret Santa / free food certificate forms here on the front counter. The deadline for mailing these forms is Monday, Dec. 12. Please stop by and get yours today! The date for Secret Santa is Saturday, Dec. 17. Forms are also available at Bill’s IGA and His Service Station. Any questions, please contact the Staunton Lions Club. The library is merely assisting the Lions in getting the information out.

Our Christmas Party Storytime will be Thursday, Dec. 8, starting at 4 p.m. Children ages 3 and up are invited to come in for a wonderful story, art activities and games. Party bags will be handed out at the door while supplies last.

The library will be offering a second Storytime on Thursday, Dec. 22, at 4 p.m.

It will be a nice way to enjoy the last days of December without the hustle and bustle of the crazy shopping frenzy. Books, art and games are all a wonderful way to relax.

A big thank you to all who participated in the November scarecrow art theme. It was so much fun this year. I really enjoyed seeing it around town in windows, display cases, in yards, benches and street corners. I hope we can all do another theme again soon.

Special thanks to all who attended the Family Reading Night on Thursday, Nov. 17. Ava Roller read a story and did a couple of art projects with the group while Jo Nolan handed out grab bags and assisted with the free book cart for all who wanted one. We love the idea of families enjoying the library together.

Thanks everyone for another wonderful year inside the Staunton Public Library. We appreciate you all. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas. Come see us at the Staunton Public Library soon.
