Net Community church collected hygiene items for the pantry at a recent event.
The SHHC received the CRS Rice Bowl Grant from the Diocese of Springfield. This grant is funded through special giving during the lenten season.
Brownie Troop 6075 brought in Birthday kits to the pantry this month. These kits help our guests prepare a cake for birthdays.
Bunker Hill Livewires 4-H Club prepared Birthday bags for the SHHC. The birthday bags have cake mix, icing, candles, and oil to prepare a cake. These are excellent for pantry guests.
The FFA hosted a haunted house in October and collected canned goods for the SHHC in lieu of admission. Pictured: FFA students Michael Matesa and Jessica Loeh.
The Staunton Helping Hands Center is preparing for a wonderful holiday season and is thankful for the support it receives from the community. With the upcoming Boy Scout food drive, the SHHC would like to encourage you to check dates before donating. Some of the most helpful items to donate are: instant mashed potatoes, instant oatmeal packs, cold cereal, tuna, chili, and soup (vegetable beef, chicken noodle, and cream of mushroom).

There is still time to donate to sponsor a turkey dinner for a family ($25). Donations can be dropped off during pantry hours (Tuesdays from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and Wednesdays from 5-7pm) or mailed to PO Box 111 in Staunton. Donations can also be received via Venmo @stauntonhelpinghands.
