• Ashley N. Bottoms, 33, of Carlinville, faces a felony charge of involuntary manslaughter after allegedly breaking up a fight between two juveniles and throwing a minor household member away from the fight, which caused the minor’s head to strike a ledge on a half wall, leading to blunt force trauma and a brain bleed, causing death on Thursday, Oct. 20. She also faces a felony charge of causing child endangerment/death after allegedly observing the minor in distress from a head injury and driving around in a vehicle for over three hours without obtaining medical care.

• Camilo E. Casallas-Gomez, 27, of St. Louis, Mo., faces a felony charge of residential burglary after allegedly entering another person’s residence on Cambridge Road in Brighton on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

• Jaime J. Diaz-Vargas, 29, of St. Louis, Mo., faces a felony charge of residential burglary after allegedly entering another person’s residence on Cambridge Road in Brighton on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

• Andrew E. Flowers, 26, of Redding, Calif., was charged with resisting a peace officer after allegedly pulling away while attempting to be handcuffed and criminal trespass to land after allegedly entering the property of Walmart on Thursday, Oct. 27.

• Caleb J. Daponte, 20, of Benld, was charged with obscenity after allegedly publishing a TikTok video of a minor under 13 years of age, in which the minor is presented in a clothed but sexual manner on or about March 22.

• Alia A. Banks, 37, of Chicago, was cited for driving under the influence at 11:08 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, on I-55 northbound near milepost 48 in Cahokia Township.

• Renee L. Scroggins, 37, of Bunker Hill, was ticketed for driving under the influence at 11:49 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at South Washington Street near Warren Street in Bunker Hill.
