The Staunton High School volleyball team brought their season record up to 23-6 and 7-0 in conference, clinching another SCC title with their win over Litchfield Tuesday, Oct. 18.
The Lady Bulldogs defeated the Panthers in two sets, 25-7 and 25-17.
Haris Legendre led the team in kills with 15 followed by Kennedy Legendre 5, Danielle Russell 4, Taylor Seelbach 2, Ele Feldmann 1 and Allison Weller 1.
The Legendre girls accounted for all 7 Aces; 4 by Haris and 3 by Kennedy.
D. Russell and K. Legendre each had 1 block.
Digs were a real team effort led by H. Legendre 10, K. Legendre 8, Kylie Lucykow 6, Feldmann 3, Weller 3, Samantha Schnefke 2, Seelbach 2, Russell,Taylor Nolan and Olivia Albrecht, 1 ea.
The Lady Bulldogs were at Gillespie on Thursday, Oct. 20, and defeated the Lady Miners 2-0 with sets of 25-14 and 25-2. This win brings their season record to 24-6 and 8-0 in conference.
H. Legendre led the team in kills with 14 followed by D. Russell, S. Schnefke and K. Legendre with 3 each, Allison Weller with 2.
Russell had 2 aces. Weller, Schnefke and K. Legendre each had 1.
Russell led the team with 3 blocks and H. Legendre had 1 block.
Digs were by Feldman 7, K. Legendre 6, Russell 4, Albrecht 3, Schnefke 3, Lucykow 3, Weller 2, H. Legendre 2 and Seelbach 1.
The Volleyball team played in a neutral tournament on Saturday, Oct. 22. They defeated Herrin 2-0, Salem 2-1 and Hamilton 2-0. There were no results given for Massac County or Carterville matches. This week the girls are playing in the Hillsboro Regional.
