Debrah Barber, 74, of Benld, Ill., died at her son's residence in Gillespie on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022. She was born June 23, 1948, in Alton, the daughter of the late Richard and Clema Maybell Main. She married Arthur Barber Jr. on July 10, 1967, and he preceded her in death on March 11, 2022.
Debrah was a homemaker and military wife. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Gillespie. She enjoyed spending time with grandkids, family, and friends, and she enjoyed her sister days as a "Red Hatter."
Survivors include two sons, Andrew (Melinda) Barber of Gillespie, Timothy (Sara) Barber of Sawyerville; eight grandchildren, Dakotah (Emily), Morgan, Abigail, Mason (Kendra), Connor, Katy, John Allen, and Shawne Copeland; one sister, Ramona (Melvin) Highfill of Jerseyville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Jimmy, Paul, Pete, and Gerald Main; and four sisters, Doris Wallace, Joyce Brooks, Bonnie Terril, and Carol Walsh.
Funeral services are pending at this time and will be updated at http://www.williamson fh.com. Services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Gillespie with Rev. Larry Moreau officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
