Loftis

Albert "Al" Glenn Loftis, Jr., 66, of Gillespie, Ill., died peacefully with his children and wife by his side on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, at home. He was born March 28, 1956, in Granite City to Albert Sr. and Georgia (Hasty) Loftis. He married Elizabeth Tarrant on Aug. 20, 1977, in Washington Park. She survives.

He was an auto detailer for Victory Lane. He enjoyed car shows, fishing, camping and being social. He was well known in the Gillespie community.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Loftis of Gillespie; children, Daniel (Julie) Loftis of Virden, Christina (partner, Jenni Tate) Loftis of St. Louis, Mo., Christopher (Melissa) Loftis of Mt. Clare; grandchildren, Austin Loftis of Gillespie, Dalton Loftis of Virden, Cassandra Loftis of Virden, Charlie Warden of St. Louis, Amber Vail of St. Louis; great-granddaughter, Armella Loftis of Gillespie; and siblings, Debbie Hayden, Richie Loftis, and Tommy Loftis. Albert was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Madyson Loftis; brothers, Robbie Loftis, William Loftis; and sisters, Alma "Faye" Hart and Alice Loftis.

Funeral services are Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 10 a.m. at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Burial will be at Gillespie Cemetery.
