Trunk or Treat in Livingston Sunday

There will be plenty of fun on hand for the little ghouls and goblins at the community trunk or treat scheduled for 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at Veterans Memorial Park in Livingston. The event is sponsored by the Livingston Park Association.

Vehicles participating in the trunk or treat should enter the park at 3:30 p.m. for setup. Parking for visitors will be available on the east (Country Inn) side of the parking lot. Kids are asked to show off their Halloween costumes as they venture from car to car (and fire truck, tractor and ambulance) to gather treats.

Children will also have a chance to play games and win prizes at a carnival midway that will be set up under the large covered pavilion.

This event is free, but participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to support the holiday food baskets in the Livingston/Williamson community. These contributions will be used to “cram the coffins” set up near the midway. All donations are welcome, but Thanksgiving-related items (canned pumpkin, cranberries, stuffing mix, instant mashed po- tatoes, turkey gravy, evaporated milk and canned vegetables) are greatly appreciated. As a special bonus, anyone who helps “cram the coffin” with food will get one chance to unlock a treasure chest filled with special prizes.
