Volleyball girls win at Vandalia

After a loss to Breese Mater Dei on Sept. 13, the Lady Bulldogs got back on their winning streak, winning at Pana and at Vandalia.

Staunton defeated the Pana Panthers 2-0 in sets of 25-12 and 25-13 on Sept. 15.

Haris Legendre led the team in kills with 17; Legendre and Taylor Nolan each had one block.

Nolan also led in digs with 15.

The Lady Bulldogs were in Vandalia on Sept. 22 and defeated the Vandals in two sets, 25-15 and 25-12.

H. Legendre led the Lady Bulldogs in kills with 9. Allison Weller led in blocks with 2. Danielle Russell and Kennedy Legendre each had 1 block.

Kylie Lucykow, H. Legendre, and Weller led in digs with 4 each.

This win brought the Lady Bulldog overall season record to 11-5 and 3-0 conference.

The girls are at Carlinville on Thursday, Sept. 29. They play at home vs. Hillsboro on Oct. 6; then go on the road to Greenville Oct. 11, to North Mac Oct. 13 and to Litchfield Oct. 18.

The Lady Bulldogs are in the 2A division and listed as part of the Sub-Sectional B being played at Breese Mater Dei. The brackets have not yet been posted.
